Today & Upcoming

Sunrise has two primary planning views: Today and Upcoming.

Today

The Today view shows everything due today:

• Tasks with a due date of today
• Calendar events from your connected Google Calendar
• Overdue tasks (optional)

Use Today to focus on what needs attention right now. Calendar events appear alongside tasks so you can plan around meetings.

Upcoming

The Upcoming view shows the week ahead. You can switch between three view modes:

• List — tasks grouped by day
• Kanban — drag tasks between day columns
• Calendar — tasks and events on a timeline

Managing the week

• Drag tasks between days in kanban view
• Toggle overdue visibility
• Adjust how many days are visible
• Add tasks directly to a specific day

Calendar overlay

When Google Calendar is connected, events appear on both Today and Upcoming. Event times help you see when you have meetings relative to your task deadlines.

• Start each morning in Today to triage your day
• Use Upcoming kanban on Mondays to plan the week
• Switch to calendar view when scheduling around meetings
