Privacy Policy — Sunrise

Sunrise ("we", "us", or "our") operates the Sunrise web application at app.getsunrise.today and the marketing website at getsunrise.today. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our services.

Information we collect

Account information

When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from your Google account. We use this to create and manage your Sunrise account.

Google Tasks data

If you enable Google Tasks sync, we access and store tasks from your Sunrise list in Google Tasks. We sync changes between Sunrise and Google Tasks to keep both in sync.

Google Calendar data

If you connect Google Calendar, we access event titles, times, and related metadata to display calendar overlays on your Today and Upcoming views. We do not modify your calendar events unless you explicitly take an action in Sunrise that changes them.

Workspace data

We store the tasks, projects, teams, comments, activity, and settings you create in Sunrise. This data is associated with your workspace (tenant) and is accessible to members of that workspace.

Technical data

We may collect standard server logs (IP address, browser type, timestamps) for security, debugging, and service reliability. Cloudflare may process request metadata as part of hosting our services.

How we use your information

Provide, maintain, and improve the Sunrise service
Authenticate you and manage your account
Sync tasks with Google Tasks and display calendar events
Enable collaboration within your workspace
Send service-related notifications (e.g., invites, activity)
Respond to support requests
Protect against abuse and ensure security

Google API Limited Use disclosure

Sunrise's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy , including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically:

We only use Google user data to provide and improve user-facing features of Sunrise.
We do not transfer Google user data to third parties except as necessary to provide the service, comply with law, or as part of a merger/acquisition with notice.
We do not use Google user data for advertising.
We do not allow humans to read Google user data unless you give consent, it is necessary for security, or required by law.

Data sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only:

With Google, as required to use Google Tasks and Calendar APIs
With Cloudflare, as our hosting and infrastructure provider
With workspace members, for data you create within a shared workspace
When required by law or to protect our rights and safety

Data retention

We retain your data while your account is active. If you delete your account or request deletion, we will remove your personal data within a reasonable period, subject to legal retention requirements.

Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including HTTPS encryption, secure authentication, and tenant-scoped data access. See our Security page for more details.

Your rights

Children

Sunrise is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
