Inviting teammates
Invite colleagues to your organization, or share folders and projects.
Inviting teammates
Google Workspace organizations can add people to the company workspace. Folders, teams, and projects are shared separately.
Organization membership
Members of a Google Workspace organization can invite others with email addresses on the same domain.
- Open Settings → Members
- Enter a teammate’s work email
- Share the invite link
The invitee signs in with that Google account and joins the organization. Organization admins can see every team and project. Everyone else only sees teams and projects they have access to.
Sharing folders, teams, and projects
Use Share on a team, folder, or project (the same dialog as Google Drive):
- Add any email as Viewer, Commenter, or Editor
- Projects inherit access from their parent team or folder, and can grant extra access on top
- Google Workspace items can also use Anyone in [organization]
- Personal workspaces stay single-member. You can share folders and projects, but you cannot add people to the workspace. Shared items appear under Shared with me for the recipient.
Pending invites are granted when the person signs in with that email, or when they open /share/....
Personal accounts
Personal Gmail workspaces cannot add workspace members. Share a folder or project instead. Ownership stays with the workspace.
